It is written in John 15 vs 14-15:Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.(KJV)

My Dear Friend, The maker of man, The Almighty God, made us with 5 fingers on each hand. The fingers differ in size from one another. Each of our fingers has its own purpose.

Likewise, God in His great wisdom and creativity, created mankind in different sizes, shapes and colours. And since no one is an island, it thus translates that there are different categories of people in our lives.

Many times, we make the mistake of expecting that everyone will like us. In the past, you may have even gone through the struggle of trying to satisfy everyone. Beloved, be realistic, that is a tall order, It is just a wish and absolutely not the reality, you cannot satisfy everyone.

Whether you like it or not, there are some people in your life, that are indifferent to whatever you are going through. They sit on the fence concerning your matters. They have their own priorities and you are just not part of those.

Again, whether you like it or not, there are some people in your life, that are jealous, angry and unhappy about or with who you are. Sometimes such people will show it through their attitude and disposition towards you. To an extent this is still good, at least you will identify them, pray about it and receive inspiration on how to manage them.

At other times, such dispositions are hidden and not expressed.

These are the most dangerous characters you can ever have around you. Again, I say that this category is very dangerous. These are the pretenders. Unfortunately, you can find them everywhere. No wonder Apostle Paul prayed for deliverance from unreasonable men in 2 Thessalonians 3 vs 2 (KJV)

Ultimately, there are people who God has positioned in your life, in order to lift you up when the issues of life weigh you down or to rejoice with you when the need to celebrate arises.

Such individuals will go to any length in attending to your emotions and challenges. They do not want to see you in any hurtful situation. They express genuine love without any expectation for a corresponding reward.

When you do wrong, such people tell you the truth and correct you with love as an underlining factor. The corrections could sometimes be hard and at other times mild, depending on the circumstance and the issue at hand. Such people just want nothing but the best for you. They are destiny helpers. They are surely great blessings. They are not readily available especially in our generation. Curiously and sometimes, it takes a wise person to identify such people when they come around.

This kind of friendship do not just happen. There are prices and expectations that must be met in order to sustain them. And being human, such personalities also have the tendency to fail your expectations at one point or the other.

But the truest friend that we need and must have is the Lord Jesus Christ. He decided not to call us servants but friends. To qualify to be His friend, we must obey all His commandments.

WHO IS A TRUE FRIEND?
-A true friend tells you the truth
-A true friend is a spiritual Sharpener (Proverbs 27 vs 17)
-A true friend takes risk on your behalf (Jonathan on David-1Samuel 18.)
-A true friend defends you both in your presence and absence
-A true friend goes out of his/her way to secure your satisfaction(Naomi and Ruth)
-A true friend speaks no evil about your personality
-A true friend gives you access to his/her knowledge base.

Jesus is the best and truest friend we can ever have, He did not only meet all criterium of human friendship but He also went ahead and died for you and me, John 15 vs 13 says: greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down His life for His friends.

The Lord called us His friends, He is eager to permanently have us as true friends. To be His true friend comes with a price, He says Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. The onerous question is -are you and l true friends of the Lord Jesus Christ?

May Jehovah God perfect our friendship with His Dear Son in Jesus mighty name.
